  • “Financial Modeling & Business Valuation for Start-ups” Talk

    Foresight President Efrat Kasznik gave a presentation titled “Financial Modeling & Business Valuation for Start-ups at the Women StartUp Lab‘s Co -Office Day held at Procopio Law.

    The talk focused on financial planning and valuation techniques for early stage start-ups. Ms. Kasznik shared her experience as a start-up CFO and reviewed bootstrapping techniques for stretching dollars to the maximum. Ms. Kasznik highlighted the most common revenue models and cost structures associated with the formation of a new venture, and how to structure a reliable and realistic financial model over a 3-5 year period for business plans and investor fundraising.   She went over the principals of business valuation for fundraising and how to prepare financial pitches to investors.

    The value of patent portfolios is often shrouded in mystery, due to the lack of transparency associated with IP transactions. The media coverage of some of the recent multi-billion dollar patent deals has allowed a rare glimpse into the financial value of these assets.The multidisciplinary panel will provided a practical guide to understanding the value of a company’s patent portfolio from the viewpoint of a variety of stakeholders. The panel presented a rounded view of the methods applied and factors considered in the valuation and assessment of patents as they relate to the corporate IP holder.
